Product information "Wheel rim sealing 100 ml"
Dark-Woods wheel rim sealing is a coating material based on chemical nanotechnology that creates very good beading behaviour for aqueous and oily liquids and makes it easier to remove dirt from car and motorcycle rims; it also reduces the adhesion of brake dust. Aggressive substances such as road salt are easier to remove and cannot burn into the material straight away. The effect lasts approx. 10,000 km depending on use. We recommend applying it at every season change in spring and autumn, and up to four times a year for higher mileages.
Dilution: none
Application quantity: approx. 30–50 ml per rim
Curing/drying: at least approx. 1–2 hours, better 24 hours
Application temperature: +5°C to +25°C – protect from direct sunlight -
Handling: see instructions for use in the download area
Storage and shelf life: see safety data sheet, print on bottle or canister
Storage temperature: +5°C to +25°C, protect from direct sunlight and frost, store tightly closed in the original container
Application:
Wearing gloves is recommended. Dark-Woods wheel rim sealing draws moisture from the skin. The application should be checked on an inconspicuous spot or a sample area. Do not apply at temperatures below +5 °C.
Preparation:
The surface must be carefully freed of dirt, oil and grease contamination. After pre-cleaning, we always recommend treatment with bio-ethanol or methylated spirits or another alcohol-based universal cleaner. Afterwards, you can briefly rinse again with sufficient water, but this is no longer essential. Please do not treat the surface with other cleaners afterwards; instead, seal it in the next step.
Coating:
Spray on, wait approx. 1 minute and then polish off. We recommend using a Dark-Woods cleaning cloth, as it has been specially adapted to our products.
The applied material needs at least 2 hours to dry. During this time, please do not wash or treat the rims either mechanically or by hand, otherwise the effect is lost.
Proof of effect via drop test:
Water should form drops over the entire surface but no even film.
Drying:
The effect sets in approx. 30 minutes after polishing. If the temporary effect wears off, proceed as with the initial treatment to refresh the effect.
Environmental influence:
At temperatures above +25 °C, coat smaller sections. Do not use below +5 °C.
Cleaning the coated surfaces:
Since dirt and brake dust do not adhere firmly to the coating, no aggressive cleaners (extremely acidic, extremely alkaline, scouring cream) are required. Clean the surface with a sponge and a mild cleaner when the beading effect wears off. The coating still requires regular cleaning of the surfaces.
